Formula 9878 is a heavy-duty powdered alkaline compound formulated for use in hot vats to strip rust, paint, primer, carbon, grease and grime. It inhibits flash rusting of cleaned iron and steel surfaces until permanent protection can be applied. It does not pit, embrittle or otherwise adversely affect iron, steel, stainless steel, magnesium and copper. It is ideal for automotive rebuilders, heavy equipment rebuilders, maintenance garages and industrial air conditioning and machinery rebuilders. When used to clean stainless steel, performs the additional function of actually brightening the metal surface. No specially lined vats are required for solutions, and no special ventilation is needed when used where ventilation is adequate.
