Zep Formula 9862 is a premium-grade, heavy-duty alkaline powder formulated for use specifically as a hot vat stripper on ferrous magnesium and titanium. It removes a wide variety of grease and oily soils, loose carbon as well as paint and primers. Zep Formula 9862 dissolves rust and prevents the formation of metallic sludge. Effective in both hard and soft water areas.

NEVER ADD POWDER TO HOT SOLUTION. Dissolve ½ to 1 lb. of ZEP FORMULA 9862 per gallon of water (100–300g ZEP FORMULA 9862 per liter of water) for light-duty use. For heavy-duty use dissolve 1 to 2 lbs. of ZEP FORMULA 9862 per gallon of water (100–300g ZEP FORMULA 9862 per liter of water). Heat the solution to between 180°F (82°C) to 200°F (93°C). Immerse the parts to be cleaned. Cleaning time will vary with the concentration and temperature of the solution, the amount of agitation, as well as the nature and amount of soil present. When clean, remove and rinse parts with water, preferably using an immersion rinse. Solution should be maintained periodically as follows: (a) Check the level of the solution and replace water lost by evaporation. (b) Check the concentration of the solution with a Zep Test Kit and add sufficient product to restore solution to original concentration. (c) Accumulations of soil should be skimmed from the surface of the solution periodically for more effective cleaning and increased vat life.
