Instructions

NOTE: Not for use on aluminum, zinc, or galvanized metal. When preparing a fresh solution, be sure that water is cool—less than 100°F (38°C). When sweetening vat, cool solution to less than 180°F (82°C). Add powder slowly, sprinkling across the surface to avoid boiling, splattering, and splash back. NEVER ADD POWDER TO HOT SOLUTION! For light-duty use, dissolve ½ to 1 lb. of Zep Formula 9878 per gallon of water. Heat the solution to between 180°F (82°C) and 200°F (93°C). Immerse the parts to be cleaned. Cleaning time will vary based on concentration and temperature of the solution, amount of agitation, and type/amount of soil, rust, or paint present. When clean, remove and rinse parts with water, preferably using an immersion rinse. Solution should be maintained periodically as follows: (a) Check the level of the solution and replace water lost by evaporation. (b) Check the concentration of the solution with a Zep alkalinity test kit and add sufficient powder to restore solution to its original concentration. (c) Skim accumulated soil from the surface of the solution periodically for more effective cleaning and increased vat life. NOTE: Prevent contact with any other chemical. Never mix or use this with any other solution.
