Vat Cleaning: Zep I.D. Blue is formulated to be used undiluted in immersion cleaning processes, either at room temperature or heated up to 170°F. Parts may be soaked in a static tank. Performance is improved if the parts are agitated in the solvent or if pumps are used to circulate the solvent. Agitation that generates fine mists should be avoided since these mists can be ignited. Higher temperature (170°F maximum) will improve the performance of Zep I.D. Blue, particularly on removing waxes and tars. Equipment designed with proper safeguards to prevent over-heating should be used. Cleaned parts should be drained and then blown dry in properly ventilated area if flash rust protection is not required. Spray Cleaning: Zep I.D. Blue is an ideal cold spray cleaner. Can be applied through any solvent resistant pressurized sprayer. Disconnect power source and spray. After Zep I.D. Blue has soaked into the soil and loosened it, a blast of compressed air will usually remove it from hard-to-reach corners and crevices. After electric motors are spray cleaned, allow the product to completely evaporate before restarting the motor. Drying can be hastened with compressed air in a well-ventilated area.
